Kanuhura Maldives

Kanuhura is located on the eastern rim of Lhaviyani Atoll, on its own private island. Famed for its laid-back luxury and authentic, natural Maldivian charm, the award-winning resort offers the highest standards of accommodation, service and culinary experience. Every effort has been made to retain the natural beauty of the island and wherever possible, employ the use of only natural materials.

The island measures approximately 1000 meters in length and 200 meters in width, with a north-south orientation. It offers the best in watersports and diving.

Travel is by seaplane and is around 40 minutes from the international airport at the Maldives capital, Male. The seaplanes, privately run by Maldivian Air Taxi Services, operate a schedule to accommodate international arrivals and departures. A private waiting lounge is available for guests of Kanuhura.

Tropical in climate, the Maldives has two significant seasons; the north-east monsoon, from December to March, is light and fairly dry, while the south-west monsoon, from June to November, occasionally brings brief downpours followed by sunshine. The temperature ranges from mid-20s to mid-30s and is highest in April and May.

Each villa has its own private outdoor area with mesmerising views to the ocean. Extensive use of hand-crafted wood, raffia, bamboo and other natural materials creates an elegant rustic interior befitting the naturally beautiful island surroundings.

Beach Villas

The Beach Villas are dotted on the island’s coral sand fringe. Private space extends onto the beach and out to the lagoon.

Beach Villa Duplexes

The Beach Villa Duplexes comprise of two interconnecting villas, and are perfect for families and larger parties.

Grand Beach Villas

The largest villas are the Grand Beach Villas.With two bedrooms, two large bathrooms with Jacuzzi bath, living room, kitchenette, dining table, veranda and a wide beachfront, the suites offer a “home-away-from-home”, especially for long-staying guests.

Water Villas

Out on the water, set along sun-bleached wooden pontoons, are 18 Water Villas. With private sundecks and steps that lead down into the water, each Water Villa offers guests direct access to the lagoon.

Grand Water Villas

The two Grand Water Villas feature a bedroom, living room and a spacious sundeck overlooking the lagoon and reef.

All rooms feature air-conditioning, safe, ceiling fan, satellite television, DVD and stereo player, IDD telephone, ADSL internet, in-villa bar, coffee and tea making, private veranda, smoke detectors, spacious outdoor shower and freeform bath semi-open to the sky. Guests are looked after by a personal Villa Host.
